TWG for StratPlan 2024–28 Presents Output to the University ExeCom at a Final Validation Conference

Rizal Technological University (RTU) Strategic Plan (StratPlan) Technical Working Group (TWG) presented their final draft to the University Executive Committee (ExeCom) during the Final Validation Day held on March 14, 2024, at the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), Ortigas, Pasig City.

The program commenced with the opening remarks by Dir. Alvin P. Principe of the DAP Operations Management Office. Asso. Prof. Ella D. Aragon, Director of the University Planning Office, then introduced the team’s “Planning Journey,” followed by Dr. Ruby-Ann Dela Cruz, a TWG member, setting forth RTU’s Guiding Principles, Vision, Mission, and Core Values Statements. Subsequently, the TWG presented the details of various organizational outcomes, strategic goals, programs, and risk registry in four domains: teaching, research, extension, and governance, culminating with the presentation of the strategy framework by Dr. Salvacion J. Pachejo, Vice President for Planning, Quality Assurance, and Strategic Initiatives Division (VPPQASID).

The ExeCom, consisting of key university leaders, provided valuable input during the session. These included Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco, University President; Dr. Kristine Y. Opulencia, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA); Dr. Magno M. Quendangan, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services (VPRIES); Dr. Corazon D. Austria, RTU Pasig Branch Chancellor; Dr. Pachejo, VPPQASID; Assoc. Prof. Mary Anne S. Rubio, Chief Executive Assistant, and Asst. Prof. John Eric O. Estrellado, Director of the University Public Affairs Office (UPAO). The session moderators; Instr. John Peter De Leon and Assoc. Prof. Jayson Romero facilitated the whole discussion. President Yangco expressed her sincere appreciation to the hardworking members of the TWG and the Development Academy of the Philippines for their contributions to the strategic planning process.

The collaborative efforts between the TWG, DAP, and ExeCom accentuate RTU’s commitment to strategic planning and continuous improvement in its academic and organizational endeavors. With a clear roadmap outlined in the final draft of the strategic plan, RTU is dignified to achieve its mission and contribute significantly to the academic industry as well as the local and international communities.
