Rizal Technological University (RTU) marked a significant milestone as students from the Institute of Computer Studies, enrolled in the BS Information Technology program, participated for the first time in the Test of Practical Competency in IT (TOPCIT) 2024.

The examination, held on April 23, 2024, is a nationwide assessment of skills and competencies in various areas of computing and information technology, drawing participation from thousands of students across different Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Philippines. Facilitated by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in collaboration with the Institute for Information & Communication Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP) of the Government of the Republic of South Korea, TOPCIT offers students a platform to showcase their proficiency in IT-related fields.

Guided by the dedicated faculty members of the BSIT program, under the leadership of Department Head Dr. Lea Nisperos, RTU students ventured into this examination, showing the university’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and preparing students for the demands of the industry.
