RTU Forges Strategic Partnership with Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) to Boost Disaster Resilience

 

Rizal Technological University-Main Campus – RTU inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) on February 21, 2024, aiming to strengthen the University’s disaster resilience initiatives and enhance preparedness measures.

During the event, Instr. John Arvie V. Casas, from the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) Director, delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of proactive disaster management. Instr. Emmanuel L. Taruc, Director of the General Services Office (GSO), conveyed a message of support, underlining the pivotal role of robust disaster management programs in ensuring the safety and well-being of the university’s stakeholders by partnering with international organizations such as ADPC.

Mr. Bill Ho, Director of Strategic Planning Development at ADPC, expressed commitment to the partnership and emphasized the collaborative efforts required to address the challenges posed by disasters. Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco, RTU President, delivered a message of commitment, underscoring RTU’s dedication to fostering a culture of disaster resilience. Her address highlighted the university’s proactive stance in confronting potential challenges and preparing the community for a resilient future.

The high point of the event was the formal signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, symbolizing the beginning of a collaborative journey between RTU and ADPC in advancing disaster preparedness, response, and recovery strategies.

Also, present during the event is Dr. Rodolfo L. Ducut, Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA). As the event concluded, Inst. Donato Z. Estocada, Director of the International Affairs and Linkages Office, delivered closing remarks, expressing gratitude for the collaboration and highlighting the transformative impact this partnership is expected to have on the university’s disaster resilience initiatives.
