RTU College of Education conducts Pinning Ceremony for Pre-Service Teachers

Rizal Technological University College of Education (CED) held its Pinning Ceremony with the theme “Unveiling the Future of Education: Soaring New Heights in Teaching in the 21st Century” last September 22, 2023, under the leadership of their Dean, Dr. Wendelyn A. Samarita, and the supervision of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), Dr. Mark DG. Garvida.

A very inspiring speaker graced the ceremony, Dr. Victorino V. Butron, principal of Cainta Senior High School, who filled the podium with words of wisdom. He reminded the future educators that the pinning ceremony is a mark of accepting the challenges of the academe. “Being an educator is challenging since you will live a life wherein wherever you go, you must embody your profession because teaching is an ongoing process of growth, development, and dedication, so this job is not for the weak; instead, it is for those who have brave hearts that can endure all the struggles emotionally and physically”, Dr. Butron said. He ended his speech with encouragement that, as future educators, pre-service teachers must learn how to turn struggles into challenges, make mistakes into best practices, turn frustrations into hopes, and disappointments into dreams because the right mindset is necessary for the teaching profession.

At its core, the pinning ceremony represents the passage of the torch of knowledge and the responsibility that comes with it. This ceremony is a pivotal moment in the journey of pre-service teachers, as it marks the culmination of years of hard work, academic pursuits, and their transition from student to educator. As pre-service teachers embark on their teaching careers, they carry with them the values, wisdom, and inspiration gained during this ceremony. This event is the start of celebrating their commitment to the noble profession of teaching and making a positive impact on the lives of countless students in the years to come.
