The Rizal Technological University’s College of Arts and Sciences (RTU-CAS), in partnership with Mandaluyong High School (MHS) and Senate President Neptali A. Gonzales Integrated School (SPNAGIS), successfully concluded its lecture series as part of the extension program, PROJECT ARC: Action Research Coaching. Launched on November 15, 2023, this program is part of RTU’s broader initiative, Project USWAG (Unified Sustainable Community Welfare Adopt-a-School Program Towards Greatness), aimed at supporting public schools.
MHS’ participation is led by Principal Mr. Pompío B. Floro Jr. and Research Coordinator Mrs. Maria Cristina Camangeg, while SPNAGIS is represented by Principal Mr. Ramilo P. Pascual and Research Coordinator Mrs. Jona Serrano.
Project ARC, with teams of Quantitative and Qualitative, focuses on improving the quality of education in the Philippines by supporting action research in basic education. The Quantitative team, led by Dr. Faustino Oguan Jr., includes Assoc. Prof. Lorena Halili, Ms. Ma. Del Carmen Labong, Instr. Mylene Prado, and Instr. Josebelle Delgado. The Qualitative team, led by Instr. Ricardo Momongan Jr., consists of Dr. Susan E. Puyat, Instr. Divine Grace C. Pagal, Instr. Lovelyn B. Balbedina, Instr. Rose Ann Bautista, and Assoc. Prof. Ryan Manuel Guido. Together, these dedicated professionals aim to enhance student learning, improve teaching methods, and support professional development for teachers through their collaborative approach.
The lecture series began on November 15, 2023, with sessions on Crafting Action Research and Qualitative Methods by Assoc. Prof. Ryan Manuel Guido at Rizal Technological University, followed by Quantitative Methods by Dr. Faustino Oguan on November 29, 2023, at Senate President Neptali A. Gonzales Integrated School. The series concluded with the Filipinization of Research and Ethical Considerations in Research by Instr. Ricardo Momongan Jr. and Instr. Lovelyn Balbedina on January 10, 2024, at Mandaluyong High School. Currently, teachers from partner schools are actively engaged in crafting their action research proposals with guidance from RTU faculty-extensionist research experts.
