RTU Ash Wednesday Mass marks the beginning of the Institution’s Observation of the Penitential Lenten Season

Rizal Technological University (RTU) ushered in the Lenten season with an ardent Ash Wednesday mass held within the halls of the Snagah building’s lobby. The occasion, sponsored by the Vice President of Research, Innovation, and Extension Services (VPRIES), Dr. Magno Quendangan, marked a moving moment of spiritual reflection and renewal for students, faculty, and administration.

The mass was officiated by Father Jason Alte, the Parish priest of St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Singalong, Manila. Father Jason delivered a stirring homily, challenging attendees to transcend their boundaries and embrace the shared humanity that binds us all. He emphasized that we are called not only to contemplate our journey but also to extend a hand of empathy and understanding to those around us. True compassion demands that we step outside of ourselves and that we immerse ourselves in the joys and struggles of our fellow on this earthly path.

The event left a lasting impression on attendees, fostering a sense of communal reflection and inspiring all to carry the spirit of Ash Wednesday into their daily lives. As the Lenten season unfolds, the RTU community is poised to embark on a journey of self-discovery, empathy, and collective growth.
