In a pioneering move towards fostering global academic collaboration, Rizal Technological University and Universitas Merdeka Malang in Indonesia have embarked on a joint international research initiative. The International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO) spearheaded this ground-breaking endeavor, marking a significant milestone in the universities’ pursuit of academic excellence and global engagement.
The inaugural meeting, held via Zoom on February 12, 2024, saw enthusiastic participation from 25 faculty members representing various disciplines from RTU, including the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), the College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy (CBEA), and the College of Education (CEd). Their counterparts from Universitas Merdeka Malang, numbering 29 faculty members, joined forces to kick-start this collaborative research journey.
This joint initiative signifies a commitment to transcending geographical boundaries and harnessing collective expertise to address pressing societal challenges and push the frontiers of knowledge. By leveraging diverse perspectives and interdisciplinary approaches, the collaboration is poised to yield impactful research outcomes with far-reaching implications.
Dr. Kristine Opulencia, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA) of RTU, and Dr. Andini Risfandini of Universitas Merdeka Malang, Head of the Cooperation Bureau, have both thrown their full support behind this initiative.
