RTU and DBM-NCR at Technical Budget Hearing for FY 2025

In a recent gathering spearheaded by the Department of Budget Management—National Capital Region (DBM-NCR) on April 18, Rizal Technological University (RTU) presented its Budget Proposal for the fiscal year 2025. The meticulous proceedings saw DBM officials and key representatives from RTU dealing with the intricacies of the proposed budget and sorting out the institution’s financial roadmap for the upcoming year.

Led by DBM NCR Regional Director, Ms. Ruby P. Muro, and her team comprising Assistant Regional Director, Mr. Joseph Cicero M. Sy, Acting-Chief Budget and Management Specialist, Ms. Kristine Jay E. Dojeno, and several specialists, the hearing provided a platform for laborious examination and discussion.

Dr. Rodolfo L. Ducut, Vice President for Finance and Administration and Officer-In-Charge, stood at the forefront of RTU’s delegation, articulating the institution’s strategic fiscal priorities for the coming year. Accompanied by other esteemed RTU officials, Dr. Ducut navigated through a comprehensive outline of the university’s budget proposal, providing insights into various crucial aspects.

The presentation commenced with an overview of National Budget Memorandum No. 149, outlining the fiscal parameters and guidelines set forth by the national government for the fiscal year 2025 budget allocation. Moreover, historical financial performance served as a benchmark, offering a retrospective analysis of RTU’s fiscal trajectory and highlighting areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.

A critical component of the discussion revolved around the status of physical targets and capital outlay implementation. RTU officials, including Assoc. Prof. Ella D. Aragon, Director, Planning Office, Asst. Prof. Dynehgre P. Casasola, Director, Human Resource Management Office, Mr. Jeremy Sevido, CPA, Director, Accounting Office, and Mr. Arnel Jaming, Officer, Budget Office, outlined key projects and initiatives earmarked for the upcoming fiscal year, emphasizing the role of prudent resource allocation in driving institutional growth and development.

Throughout the deliberations, both DBM officials and RTU representatives engaged in constructive dialogue, exchanging perspectives and insights aimed at refining the budget proposal to ensure alignment with both institutional and national objectives.
