Rizal Technological University (RTU) convened the Institute for Educational Research and Publication’s (IFERP) International Mobility Exchange Program as part of the institute’s 6th International Conference on Engineering, Social Sciences, and Humanities. The event, held last April 28, 2026, at the RTU Mandaluyong Campus, brought together scholars, researchers, and academic partners.
Organized by the initiatives of the Research, Development, and Innovation Office (RDIO) under the Office of the Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services (OVPRIES) cluster, together with IFERP, the conference aimed to strengthen international collaboration and promote cross-cultural academic exchange from various countries engaged in discussions centered on advancing research, fostering innovation, and building sustainable global partnerships.
A central highlight of the program was the presentation and feature of RTU’s Mushroom Tunnel, a controlled cultivation facility designed to optimize mushroom production while serving as a learning and livelihood model for communities. Developed under RTU’s research and extension initiatives, the project demonstrates sustainable and scalable food production techniques that create opportunities for students and faculty to participate in learning experiences, collaborative research, and intercultural training.
The program emphasized the importance of international mobility in higher education, encouraging student and faculty joint research initiatives and collaborative learning experiences. Representatives from partner institutions shared insights on best practices, challenges, and opportunities in implementing mobility programs across different regions.
The conference also served as a platform for showcasing diverse cultural perspectives, as Kultura Rizalia and Himig Rizalia performed, symbolizing visual representation and reinforcing the event’s commitment to inclusivity and global unity in education and talent, promoting knowledge exchange and cultural understanding.
RTU officials, Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco, University President; Dr. Kristine Y. Opulencia, VP for Academic and Student Affairs; and Dr. Magno M. Quendangan, VP for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services, expressed their gratitude to all partners and participants, noting that the conference continues to expand its reach and impact each year.
