Rizal Technological University (RTU) and the Court Stenographers Association of the Philippines (COSTRAPHIL), Inc. formally renewed their Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the Shorthand Refresher for Stenographers, an extension program designed to enhance the competencies of court stenographers nationwide.
The renewal ceremony took place on April 23, 2026, during the 10th National Convention, General Assembly, and Election of National Officers of COSTRAPHIL, Inc., held at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang, Davao City.
The renewed MOA covers a six-year period, from April 2026 to April 2032, reflecting a strong and sustained commitment between both institutions to advance professional development in the field of stenography.
Representing COSTRAPHIL were National President Cesar C. Saloma, Executive Vice President Rona Almarvez, VP for NCJR Ms. Dorothy A. Obias, VP for Luzon Ms. Judith E. Cueto, VP for Visayas Ms. Marivic R. Dumdum, and VP for Mindanao Mr. Severino V. Quinimon, Jr., highlighting the organization’s unified support for continuous learning initiatives.
On the part of RTU, the extension program team was led by the Project Leader, Assoc. Prof. Marie Joy C. Jorduela, together with Ma. Victoria C. Painaga, Instr. Marvin A. Fuentes, Assoc. Prof. Rosa F. Diestro, and Instr. Jennifer Castillo-Jagustin, who collectively contribute to the design and implementation of capacity-building programs for stenographers.
The renewed partnership further strengthens the long-standing collaboration between RTU and COSTRAPHIL in delivering structured and relevant training programs focused on shorthand proficiency, transcription accuracy, and professional excellence. The Shorthand Refresher Program continues to serve as a vital platform for upskilling stenographers, equipping them with updated techniques and reinforcing their critical role in ensuring accurate and reliable court reporting.
This initiative reaffirms the shared commitment of RTU and COSTRAPHIL to elevate the standards of stenography in the Philippines through sustained extension services, continuous learning, and strategic institutional collaboration.
