CASU Week 2025: Psychology Students Host Seminar for Student Athletes’ Success

March 18, 2025 – With the theme “Solidifying Awareness and Celebrating Strengths: Enhancing Mental Health, Career Empowerment, Inclusion, and Diversity,” the Counseling and Assessment Services Unit commenced its annual CASU Week celebration with a seminar titled “Triple Play in Achieving Academic, Career, and Mental Health Success for Athletes,” at the RTU Plenary Hall, Estolas Building.

Asst. Prof. Marybeth C. Miranda, the students’ Disaster and Mental Health course professor delivered her opening remarks, underscoring the significance of the event that is made possible through the initiative and efforts of the students, promoting the holistic well-being, career advancement, and academic success of Rizaliano student-athletes. Ms. Justine Danielle Reyes, RPm, a content creator, college instructor, and mental health advocate, graced the seminar’s highlight with a talk she delivered focusing on equipping the participants with practical ways on how they can nurture both their mind and body amid academic pressures and athletic commitments.

The said seminar was conducted and facilitated by the 3rd Year BS Psychology students, Block 602A, and participated in by a total of 97 student-athletes coming from various sporting events. It also aimed to foster holistic and essential life skills development of the student-athletes while emphasizing the promotion of both the well-being and individual resilience and the significance of mental health.

This initiative by CASU and the students of BS Psychology reflects RTU’s commitment in supporting the holistic development of its students. Pandayang Rizalia aims to produce students who are not just strong in athletics, but also emotionally capable Rizalianos.
