RTU Joins 3rd Philippine Identity Summit Hosted by PSA

Today, September 16, 2024, Rizal Technological University (RTU) participated in the 3rd Philippine Identity Summit organized by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) at Novotel Manila, Araneta City, Quezon City. The RTU delegation was led by Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco, University President; Dr. Jaevier Villanueva, Director of the Management Information System Office (MISO); and Asst. Prof. Dynehgre Casasola, Director of the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO).

One of the key highlights of the event was the launch of the Philippine Digital Transformation Lab, a collaborative project between the PSA, the University of the Philippines Diliman, and the Modular Open Source Identity Project. The summit is part of PSA’s celebration of International ID Day and underscores the importance of acquiring a National ID.

Other attendees included representatives and officials from various community sectors, as well as those from other state universities and colleges (SUCs).

RTU’s involvement in this event reflects its commitment to advancing digital transformation and promoting secure and accessible digital identity systems for Filipinos. The summit serves as a platform to discuss the role of digital transformation in streamlining public services, ensuring security, and fostering inclusive growth in the nation.
