RTU Holds Faculty and Staff Pre-opening Seminar for the 2nd Semester of AY 24-25

January 10, 2025, RTU Mandaluyong Main Campus – Rizal Technological University (RTU), through its Human Resource Management Office’s PRIME HRM – Learning & Development Section, successfully launched the pre-opening seminar titled “PANDAYANG RIZALIA: Unlocking Global Opportunities in Forging a Culture of International Collaboration and Trailblazers”. This hybrid event marked the beginning of the second semester of S.Y. 2024-2025, bringing together faculty members and administrative personnel both in-person and via Zoom.

The seminar’s morning session aimed to prepare the RTU community for the university’s growing focus on internationalization, emphasizing the importance of global collaboration and innovation.

The program commenced with opening and welcoming remarks delivered by Dr. Kristine Y. Opulencia, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA). This was followed by a message of support from Mr. Arnel G. Jaming, RTU-ASAP President. Adding inspiration to the event was a message by Dr. Magno M. Quendangan, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services (VPRIES).

The seminar’s highlight was the presentation by Instr. Donato Z. Estocada, Director of the International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO) and Program Head for Financial Management. His talk delved into strategies for enhancing RTU’s presence on the global stage and leveraging opportunities for academic and professional growth among faculty members and administrative personnel. 

In the afternoon, university offices provided critical updates to ensure participants were well-informed about ongoing initiatives and improvements. The Financial Management Services Office shared advancements in streamlining processes to support both faculty and administrative operations, emphasizing transparency and efficiency in financial transactions. The Gender Services and Development Office presented its latest programs at fostering an inclusive environment within the university. Meanwhile, the University Procurement Management Office highlighted updates and new policies in procurement procedures to ensure compliance with institutional standards and efficiency in resource allocation.

The seminar concluded with breakout sessions tailored to the specific needs of participants. Administrative personnel and faculty members engaged in focused discussions guided by various speakers from different university sectors.
