Rizaliano faculty members represented Rizal Technological University (RTU) at the 2025 POAP Capability Training: Attaining Work-Life Balance and Productivity, gaining up-to-date knowledge on the trends and strategies in maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Organized by the Personnel Officers Association of the Philippines (POAP), the training offered valuable insights and research-based strategies that the university may employ in its employee engagement and support initiatives.
The faculty members hailing from the College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy (CBEA), namely Instr. Noel Gabriel V. Abejar, Staff from the Presidential Management Staff Office; Instr. Shentelle Lei R. Masalonga, Deputy Director of Programs and Events Management Office; and Instr. Joy Lyn G. Ropero, RRS-HR Associate, actively participated and learned from the four-day training held on June 24-27, 2025, at The Lake Hotel in Tagaytay City.
The training featured the insightful talk of Dr. Analiza F. Arcega, College President of Pateros Technological College and Psychology Department Head of the University of Makati. Her expert knowledge enriched the experience, sharing innovative ideas in work-life balance.
Several relevant and meaningful topics were also explored and discussed in the training. These topics included research-based innovations and theories in the field of personnel management, such as meditation and fitness, Briggs’ type indicator or commonly known as MBTI, personality testing, balancing productivity and mental health, time management, the Four Burner Theory, creating support culture in the workplace, and supporting employee well-being.
The participation of the faculty members from RTU signifies the university’s continued efforts and initiatives in exploring various strategies in supporting employee relations. Moreover, this improves the capability of the faculty members, keeping their knowledge up-to-date and ensuring that this knowledge will cascade down to the students of Pandayang Rizalia.
