June 24-25, 2024 – Rizal Technological University (RTU), Department of Science and Technology-Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI), and EC Solutions, in the execution of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), organized and conducted end-user training on HR Lite System, a software developed by the DOST-ASTI for human resource management.
The training, held at the RTU EDP Laboratory focused on various HR processes using the HR Lite software. Participants were trained to navigate the different features, including digitizing personnel records like Personal Data Sheets (PDS), Daily Time Records (DTR), Leave Applications, Time Monitoring System (TMS), and Office Orders. The training brought together different personnel representing their unit or department to test the functionality and suitability of these features for RTU human resource management, which, in essence, validated its usability and effectiveness to facilitate government human resource-related functions online to foster transparency and increased productivity.
As the HR Lite adopter, RTU sees the need for a truly dynamic web-based application for more efficient delivery of its administrative functions for easier and faster access to information. This project is the offshoot of Dr. Helen Mendoza, Asst. Prof. Rebecca Gagan and Asst. Prof. Ma. Virginia Carreon’s research “Evaluating the Viability of HR Lite as a Tool for Human Resources Data Management” is an output from the CEng and CED Comprehensive Research Writing Course, organized by the Research Development and Innovation Office (RDIO) from March 7 to April 25, 2023, with Dr. Ma. Teresa S. Buenavista-Grey, former director of the RTU Research and Development Center (RDC), as the lecturer-trainer.
Following this end-user training will be the installation of the HR Lite application on RTU servers with the supervision of Management Information System Unit (MISU) personnel on June 30, 2024.
