RTU Institute of Architecture Bags 3rd Place at ARKWIZ 2024

The Rizal Technological University (RTU) Institute of Architecture (IA) proudly secured 3rd place at ARKWIZ 2024, held on May 18, 2024, at the University of the Philippines College of Architecture Building, Diliman, Quezon City. The team, composed of fourth-year students Anjaneete D. Nabor, Jazmine Pearl G. Pesigan, and Cinderella B. Arnesto – was guided by this year’s coach, Ar. King Fredrick J. Sol.

ARKWIZ 2024, themed “Community Architecture,” aimed to foster a community of empathetic and understanding academics dedicated to advocating for an architectural approach focused on creating livable spaces. The UP-Architecture Forum sponsors the competition and is part of the UP Diliman Arts and Culture Festival 2024: Pamamalagi at Pamamahagi.

The RTU Institute of Architecture has a history of excellence in the ARKWIZ competition, maintaining a tradition of competitiveness and success. Past achievements include:

· 3rd Place in 2017 (Building Science, coached by Ar. Patricia M. Gecha)

· Champion in 2018 (Urban Design and Landscape Architecture, coached by Ar. Efren M. Berme, Jr.)

· Champion in 2019 (Building Laws and Practice, coached by Ar. Joseph Perfecto A. Rea)

· 3rd Place in 2024 (Community Architecture, coached by Ar. King Fredrick J. Sol)

The consistent success of the RTU Institute of Architecture at ARKWIZ reflects the dedication and expertise of its students and faculty. Program Head and IA Director Marirose V. Vocal, who serves as the overall coach, continues to lead the institute in achieving academic excellence and fostering a spirit of competitiveness and innovation among its students.
