RTU-CBEA BS Accountancy Group at 79th PICPA Annual National Convention in Davao

The 79th PICPA Annual National Convention, hosted by the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Southern Mindanao Region and PICPA Davao Chapter, is currently underway at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier, Davao City, from November 20 to 23, 2024. Alongside the national convention, the AFA-PICPA International Conference and the CAPA-PICPA International Conference are also being held, unified under the theme, “Values Above All.”

This significant gathering of Certified Public Accountants and allied professionals provides a platform for participants to engage in discussions about the latest trends and best practices in the accountancy profession. These insights aim to elevate industry standards and support academic institutions in enhancing CPA licensure examination performance.

Among the attendees are representatives from Rizal Technological University, including Instr. Rholand H. Tapalla, CPA, Program Chair of the BS Entrepreneurship Dept.; Instr. Rommel R. Romasanta; Assoc. Prof. Felecitas C. Tuazon; Asst. Prof. Macrina Violeta V. Mutuc, Director of the Internal Audit Services Office; Accountant Januar Y. Realiza; Accountant Jeremy R. Sevido, Director of the Accounting Office; and Admin. Officer Ma. Lourdes Austria, Director of Quality Assurance Office – all serve as faculty members of the BS Accountancy Program of the RTU College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy (CBEA).

The program includes sessions aimed at professional development, such as Workplace Wellness, Practical Ethics and Leadership Integrity, and Business in Five Movements: Wisdom, Passion, and Values across Multiple Generations. Climate change risks and opportunities, as well as strategies for operational realignment, are also highlighted in the discussions. The event fosters not only knowledge sharing but also recognition, with activities such as the National Awarding Ceremonies and Welcome Event. The convention also features keynote presentations, workshops, and panel discussions led by industry leaders, offering participants valuable insights and networking opportunities.
