Rizal Technological University’s (RTU) College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) held a significant event on April 17, 2024, at the Penthouse of the TED Building – Main Campus. Under the guidance of Dr. Rodrigo DP. Tomas, College Dean of CAS, the Faculty General Assembly and Capability Building Seminar aimed to enhance faculty development and address concerns within the college.
Dr. Kristine Y. Opulencia, the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, graced the occasion with her insightful message, setting the tone for a day of collaboration and learning.
The morning commenced with a faculty general assembly where Dr. Tomas delineated the latest initiatives and programs undertaken by CAS. This session provided a platform for faculty members to voice their concerns and address pressing issues. Highlighting excellence, outstanding faculty members were recognized for their commendable performance based on student evaluations.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted to the Capability Building Seminar, led by Dr. Ruth S. Guzman, former Vice President for Research and Extension Services (2002–2008). Dr. Guzman shared insights on optimizing workplace performance. The seminar served as a forum for faculty members to acquire practical strategies for professional growth and effectiveness.
