The Department of Human Resource Management (HRM) at the College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy (CBEA), Rizal Technological University, proudly wrapped up its highly anticipated 4th In-House Recruitment Expo (IHRec) on November 22, 2024, at the SNAGAH Lobby A & B, RTU Boni Campus. Themed “The Changemakers: Strategic Recruitment for Sustainable Employment,” this year’s event was a resounding success, drawing students and industry professionals alike to experience a dynamic blend of innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability in human resource management.
IHRec 2024 proved to be a remarkable and immersive experience, effortlessly connecting academic learning with real-world application. Second-year BSBA-HRM students took the lead as recruiters, while first-year HRM students embraced the role of applicants, allowing them to gain invaluable hands-on experience in a professional setting. The seamless execution of the event was made possible by the third-year Event Management students, whose organizational excellence ensured the smooth flow of activities, further highlighting the department’s commitment to experiential learning.
Centered around sustainable recruitment practices, this year’s theme was not only timely but deeply aligned with global initiatives such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 (Quality Education), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and 10 (Reduced Inequalities). Participants had the opportunity to explore cutting-edge recruitment strategies that emphasize sustainability, digital innovation, and diversity, demonstrating the department’s forward-thinking approach to the evolving job market.
The success of IHRec 2024 is a testament to the outstanding leadership of the organizing committee, led by Chairperson Instr. Joy Lyn Ropero, and Co-Chairpersons Instr. John Carlo Consignado and Instr. Shentelle Lei Masalonga.
Throughout the event, students engaged in various activities that tested their recruitment skills while reinforcing the significance of ethical and sustainable practices in the hiring process. The recruitment simulation provided an authentic, fast-paced environment where students interacted with industry professionals, gaining valuable insights into the strategic decision-making involved in modern recruitment.
As IHRec 2024 concluded, it solidified the Department’s role as a trailblazer in academic excellence, industry readiness, and social responsibility. The event not only provided an exceptional learning experience but also set the stage for the next generation of changemakers in human resource management. Through this impactful expo, the department continues to champion its vision of shaping HR professionals who are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and ethical compass to lead in the evolving world of recruitment and beyond.
