Pandayang Rizalia’s Academic Heads Meet With ReSkills for Prospective Microcredential Subscription Platform for Students

In a productive meeting arranged by Rizal Technological University’s (RTU) International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO), under the directorship of Instr. Donato Estocada, the various deans, and academic offices of the university discussed the possibility of introducing the students to ReSkills, a subscription-based online lifelong learning platform that offers microcredential certifications.

Held at the Conference Room of IALO on April 24, 2025, the discussion enjoined the college deans of RTU, including Dr. Wendelyn A. Samarita, Dean of the College of Education (CEd); Dr. Corleto R. Bravo, Dean of the College of Engineering (CEng); Dr. Jeremiah V. Pacer, Dean of the College of Arts and Science (CAS); and Dr. Kathryn D. Tria, College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy (CBEA). Also present were Engr. Armando P. Matias, Director of the Cooperative Education Office (CoEO), Asst. Prof. Melvin N. Ambida, Director of

University Curriculum and Instructional Office (UCIO); Ms. Zoe Thea R. Palisoc, as representative of the Institute of Flexible Learning and Digital Education (IFLDE); Instr. Estocada, Director of IALO; and Instr. Divine Grace Pagal as the representative of the Office of the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (OVPASA).

The meeting mostly revolved around the products of ReSkills, which can provide relevant training on industry-based skills, leadership development, language learning, and hundreds of other distinct topics for their subscribers. The team of ReSkills, composed of Mr. CD Lee, Ms. Yen Lee, Mr. Edwin Cordenete, and Mr. Neil Patrick Libiran, discussed how extending the reach of their platform to the students will help Rizalianos find cost-effective and globally-accredited training programs, especially to graduating students who will soon enter the workforce.

Through the open discussion where the ReSkills team addressed the concerns of the university representatives, the university will soon explore connecting the students to ReSkills through IALO and CoE Office.

This prospective partnership will help bring lifelong learning and professional development closer to Rizalianos, which will improve their skills before they transition into future productive members of the working population.

Efforts like this substantiate Pandayang Rizalia’s commitment to forging not only academically excellent, but also professionally competent individuals. Even more so, IALO remains steadfast in its mission to elevate the university and the Rizalianos on the global stage.
