The Cooperative Education (COE) Office successfully launched its orientation program for student internship for the second semester of Academic Year 2024-2025. The initiative marks an excellent start to the semester for thousands of Rizalianos embarking on internship programs, paving the way for a productive and meaningful experiential learning journey.
The orientation provided an essential platform for students to gain a comprehensive understanding of the policies, guidelines, and requirements of the internship program. Attendees were equipped with valuable insights on coordinating with COE Coordinators, proper dealings with partner companies, and the values and etiquette expected from Rizaliano interns. Additionally, other important concerns related to internship protocols were thoroughly addressed, ensuring that students are well-prepared for their professional engagements.
The program included an introduction to the Cooperative Education Office and its essential role in bridging academic learning with practical industry experience. Detailed explanations of rules governing the internship program emphasized compliance and ethical standards.
Guidance on effective communication with COE Coordinators for seamless coordination was also shared. Discussions on proper interactions with host companies highlighted professionalism, respect, and accountability. The values and behaviors expected from interns to represent Rizal Technological University (RTU) with excellence were reinforced throughout the sessions.
Engr. Armando P. Matias, the COE Director led insightful discussions during the orientation sessions. Asst. Prof. Gretha Reyes-Umayam also elaborated on the enrollment procedure and guided students on how to accomplish the pertinent forms required for the internship program. Asst. Prof. Christine Pinca-Barnedo moderated the program, ensuring an engaging and interactive learning environment.
