Inter-University Excellence Initiative: RTU’s BRGASO Conducts Formal Benchmarking with PNU Auxillary Services

In a substantial institutional development aimed at enhancing operational frameworks and fostering inter-university collaboration, Rizal Technological University’s Business, Resource Generation, and Auxiliary Services Office (BRGASO) participated in a formal benchmarking activity at Philippine Normal University (PNU) on March 6, 2025. The event, hosted by PNU’s Office of the Vice President for Student Success and Stakeholders Services through its Linkages and International Office, facilitated a structured knowledge exchange between the administrative leaders of both institutions.

The RTU delegation was headed by Assistant Professor Marie Joy C. Jorduela, Chief Administrative Officer of BRGASO, who was accompanied by a contingent of officials comprising: Instr. Marvin Fuentes, Supervising Assistant Officer, BRGASO; Dr. Rhodora D. Lintot, Director, BRGASO-Food Services Office; Instr. Glee Cielle Follero, Director, BRGASO-Business Affairs Office; Instr. Joy April Andes of BRGASO; Assistant Professor Margarita D. Conelara, Director, BRGASO-Dormitory Services Office; Ms. Vaneza Mae Casi, FSO-Supervisor II, BRGASO-Food Services Office; Ms. Sean Ellaine Borja, FSO-Clerk III, BRGASO-Food Services Office; Ms. Fatima Andrade, BAO-Sales and Promotion Supervisor II, BRGASO-Business Affairs Office; and Ms. Leovina Francisco, Dormitory Manager, BRGASO-Dormitory Services Office.

The Philippine Normal University was represented by an eminent delegation including: Mr. Joseph G. Luceño, Director, Auxiliary Services and Business Development Office (ASBDO); Ms. Azzisah Eunice R. Almonte, Cafeteria Manager, PNU Cafeteria; Mr. Mars M. Majul, Director, Printing and Press Unit; Mr. Sherwin C. Ulam, Chef, PNU Cafeteria; Prof. Bryan C. Dayuta, Director, Linkages and International Office (LIO); Mr. Christian Jholo A. Herrera, Technical Assistant, LIO; Ms. Mary Judea B. Caballero, Administrative Staff, LIO; and Mr. Justin U. Santos, Senior Technical Assistant, LIO.

The benchmarking activity, which transpired at the PNU Linkages and International Office, adhered to a structured agenda ,commencing with welcome remarks by Mr. Joseph G. Luceño. Assistant Professor Jorduela subsequently delivered an address elucidating RTU’s objectives and anticipated outcomes from the benchmarking exercise.

The substantive component of the program consisted of comprehensive benchmarking discussions facilitated by ASBDO staff members, followed by an open forum and dialogue session. This methodological approach facilitated a detailed examination of institutional practices, operational protocols, and innovative solutions implemented at PNU that could potentially be adapted to enhance RTU’s administrative and service frameworks.

Such collaborative initiatives between educational institutions are increasingly recognized within the academic sphere as valuable mechanisms for enhancing administrative efficacy and operational frameworks, ultimately contributing to superior educational experiences for students and more effective resource allocation and management within the higher education sector.
