Rizal Technological University (RTU) welcomed representatives from Gimcheon University, Republic of Korea, as both institutions intensified preparations for the implementation of the Student Exchange Program scheduled for July to August 2026.
Leading the delegation from Gimcheon University were Prof. Jeong Yeong Soo and Prof. Gichun Cho, who paid a courtesy visit to the RTU International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO) to discuss the final arrangements for the mobility program and strengthen the growing partnership between the two universities.
The visiting officials met with Assoc. Prof. Donato Z. Estocada, Director of IALO, and Dr. Rome Sherriff O. Montoya, Dean of the College of Business, Entrepreneurship and Accountancy (CBEA). The meeting focused on the academic, cultural, and logistical preparations necessary to ensure the successful implementation of the exchange program. Discussions covered the students’ academic engagement, cultural immersion activities, faculty coordination, and support services that will provide participants with a meaningful international learning experience. Both institutions reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting global education, intercultural understanding, and academic excellence through student mobility initiatives.
Assoc. Prof. Estocada emphasized that the exchange program reflects RTU’s continuing efforts to expand international opportunities for its students and faculty while strengthening strategic partnerships with higher education institutions across Asia.
Dr. Montoya likewise expressed CBEA’s enthusiasm in welcoming the incoming exchange students, highlighting the value of cross-cultural collaboration in developing globally competitive graduates equipped with international perspectives and entrepreneurial competencies.
Prof. Jeong Yeong Soo and Prof. Gichun Cho conveyed Gimcheon University’s appreciation for RTU’s warm hospitality and collaborative spirit, expressing confidence that the upcoming exchange program will serve as a significant milestone in deepening the partnership between the two institutions.
