From the halls of the University to the heart of national governance, Rizal Technological University continues to build partnerships that transform knowledge into action and innovation into meaningful impact.
On September 16, 2026, Rizal Technological University (RTU), led by University President Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco, together with Vice President for Finance and Administration Dr. Rodolfo L. Ducut, paid a courtesy visit to Cabinet Secretary Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr. at the PCO Building in Malacañang Palace. The meeting was likewise attended by Undersecretaries from the Office of the Cabinet Secretary, underscoring the significance of the discussions on potential areas of collaboration.
More than a courtesy call, the meeting opened promising conversations on how academe and government can work together to bring science, technology, research, and innovation directly to Filipino communities.
Among the key areas discussed were potential collaborative initiatives in fields that offer opportunities for food sustainability, livelihood generation, technology transfer, research, and community-based development.
The meeting also explored a possible partnership with the Local Government Unit of Sagada, Mountain Province, where RTU’s expertise and resources may be harnessed through research, extension, capacity-building, and technology-driven programs responsive to the needs and opportunities of the local community.
For President Yangco and VPFA Ducut, the engagement reflects RTU’s continuing commitment to forge partnerships that go beyond institutional boundaries connecting the University’s intellectual and technological resources with government priorities and community aspirations.
The discussions carried a clear message: universities must not only generate knowledge – they must bring knowledge where it can make a difference.
