A team of fourth-year students from the Institute of Computer Studies (ICS) of Rizal Technological University (RTU) secured a place among the Top 10 Finalists in the eGovPH Hackathon 2026: Collaborative Solutions for a Better Philippines, organized by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) – eGovernment Office.

The national competition brought together more than 250 teams composed of students, software developers, IT professionals, startups, innovators, and technology experts from across the Philippines to develop innovative digital solutions that address pressing challenges in government service delivery and enhance public sector innovation.

Representing RTU were Lester Jude A. Garingalo, Jahmell Dorias, Kristine Jamelle V. Ignas, Mary Angela Kristel M. Garganera, and Trisha Mae Ashly O. Mostoles, whose teamwork, creativity, and technical expertise earned them recognition as one of the country’s top-performing teams. Their achievement highlights the students’ ability to develop practical, technology-driven solutions that promote more efficient, accessible, and citizen-centered government services.

Their success reflects the quality of education and innovation fostered by the University, demonstrating RTU’s commitment to academic excellence, digital transformation, and research-driven learning.
