The International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO), Student and Alumni Affairs Services Unit (SAASU), the Grand Alumni Association Inc. led by Jayson Q. Montallana, and the League of Alumni Associations in the Philippines represented by its Founding President Atty. Abdol Bryan Barte recently convened for a strategic meeting aimed at strengthening alumni engagement and fostering impactful partnerships for the community of Rizal Technological University (RTU).
The meeting was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Donato Z. Estocada, IALO Director, who emphasized the importance of collaborative leadership and institutional partnerships in advancing RTU’s vision for global engagement and alumni empowerment.
Also present during the meeting were other RTU representatives, including Ms. Mariel Dela Trinidad, Head of SAASU, and Instr. Ivan Michael Mendiola, Unit Head for Strategic Partnership of IALO, whose participation reinforced the university’s commitment to creating sustainable and inclusive alumni-centered initiatives.
The collaborative dialogue highlighted the vital role of alumni organizations in driving institutional excellence, professional growth, and community transformation. Leaders from the participating organizations shared a common vision of building a dynamic and globally connected alumni network capable of contributing to educational innovation, leadership development, and nation-building efforts.
Initial programs and projects were laid down during the meeting, focusing on leadership and skills development, professional networking, mentorship programs, scholarship initiatives, strategic partnerships, and community outreach activities designed to create meaningful and measurable impact for RTU alumni and stakeholders.
The meeting also gave light to the establishment of a stronger alumni engagement framework anchored on collaboration, inclusivity, and shared responsibility. Through strengthened partnerships among alumni organizations and university offices, the initiative aims to empower graduates to become active contributors to the university’s internationalization efforts and impact-driven programs.
According to the participating leaders, the collaboration signifies a transformative step toward elevating RTU’s alumni ecosystem into a nationally recognized and globally engaged network that champions innovation, service, and sustainable development.
