RTU Convenes Multi-Sectoral Meeting on Climate Action with National Environmental Leaders

Reaffirming its leadership in sustainability and environmental stewardship, Rizal Technological University (RTU) spearheaded a high-level meeting with key national stakeholders to strengthen collaborative efforts on climate change action.

The meeting, held at BauerTek Farmaceutical Technologies, Bulacan brought together representatives from various organizations and advocacy groups, led by Assoc. Prof. Donato Z. Estocada, Director of the International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO). The initiative reflects RTU’s continuing commitment to building partnerships that address urgent environmental challenges through science, innovation, and community engagement.

Among the distinguished participants was Engr. Richard Nixon Gomez, National Commander of the Climate Change Task Force–Science and Technology for Environmental Progress. He was joined by key collaborators, including the Executive Director of the Joncyr Group of Corporate Alliances, Advocacies and Collaborations, who also serves as Project Coordinator of the Joint Livelihood and Outreach Program for precast production in partnership with URCIA Architects and Designs and San Pablo Apostol Parish in Tondo.

Also present was the official representative of inventor Arch. Eduardo P. Urcia, along with the lead convenor of the Eco-Warriors and Green Brigade Movement, and Pastor Alex Ignacio, organizer of the Green Brigade Chaplaincy Group.

The discussions centered on collaborative strategies to address climate change through technological innovation, community-based programs, and sustainable livelihood initiatives. The parties explored potential joint projects that integrate environmental protection with social development, particularly in areas such as green infrastructure, waste management, and climate resilience.

RTU emphasized the importance of multi-sectoral engagement in achieving meaningful and scalable climate solutions. By bringing together experts from academia, industry, and civil society, the university continues to position itself as a catalyst for transformative environmental action.

The meeting marks another milestone in RTU’s ongoing efforts to champion sustainability, empowering communities and institutions to work together toward a greener, more resilient future.
