In line with its commitment to strengthening community engagement and expanding extension initiatives, representatives from Rizal Technological University’s (RTU) Extension and Community Services Office (ECSO) conducted an exploratory meeting and courtesy call with the Office of the Municipal Mayor of Angono, Rizal. The meeting aimed to explore potential areas of collaboration to support community development and further enhance the University’s extension programs in the municipality.
Asst. Prof. Ricardo H. Momongan, Jr., Director of ECSO, and Asst. Prof. Robelyn B. Bautista, Head of the Extension and Community Linkages Unit, represented the University during the meeting, along with extensionists from the College of Arts and Sciences.
The delegation was warmly received by Municipal Mayor Gerardo V. Calderon and key local government officials. Present during the meeting were CSO Desk Officer Rico Diokno, Sangguniang Bayan Secretary Gino Miranda, and Angono Youth Development Officer John Robert “Jiay” Ducabo.
The discussion focused on exploring collaborative opportunities for community-based extension initiatives, youth engagement programs, and capacity-building activities to benefit various sectors in the municipality.
The meeting served as an avenue for exchanging ideas and identifying priority areas for collaboration between the University and the Municipality of Angono through sustainable extension programs and community-oriented initiatives. Both parties expressed their shared commitment to strengthening partnerships that will contribute to inclusive development and improved services for the people of Angono.
This engagement marks a promising step toward building stronger linkages between the University and the local government, reinforcing the shared goal of empowering communities through education, extension services, collaboration, and public service.
