
The Rizaliano spirit is only as strong as those that keeps Rizal Technological University growing—the people that work behind the scene.
To honor their service not only to the university, but also to the Filipino people, Pandayang Rizalia held this year’s HEROES (Honoring Excellence, Recognizing Oneness, Exemplifying Service), an annual event celebrating the pillars of the University. One with the 56th Founding Anniversary and 28th Universityhood celebrations, HEROES 2025 celebrated the limitless energy of RTU personnel that built and continues to develop the endless possibilities for RTU, which ensures synergy among Rizalianos.
At the heart of this celebration are the “Heroes of the University,” a title bestowed upon those whose dedication and service have made them pillars of the institution. These awardees were recognized for their tenure and the impact they have made throughout their time at RTU. Held on October 9, 2025, at the SNAGAH Penthouse, the event gathered the awardees from across the different colleges, institutes, and even the administrative personnel, who have rendered their invaluable service to the Rizaliano community for many years.
The event was organized by the Human Resources Management Office-Rewards and Recognition Section, led by Instr. Joy Lyn Ropero, under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Dynehgre C. Villavicencio, HRMO Director. Their efforts ensured that the occasion was a meaningful tribute that reflects the awardees’ hard work and commitment.
University top officials were also present to signify their support to the event and their gratitude to the awardees. In attendance was the University President Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco, along with Dr. Rodolfo L. Ducut, Vice President for Finance and Administration; Dr. Kristine Y. Opulencia, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs; Dr. Magno M. Quendangan, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services; Dr. Salvacion J. Pachejo, Vice President for Quality Assurance; and Dr. Corazon Austria, the RTU Pasig Branch Chancellor. Mr. Arnel Jaming, the President of the Association of Administrative Personnel (ASAP), and Director Margarita G. Reyes, Director II of the Civil Service Commission-Field Office Makati were also present in support of the ceremony.
Dr. Ducut delivered an opening message expressing his heartfelt gratitude to the awardees for their unwavering dedication in continuously developing the university. President Yangco also addressed the attendees, emphasizing the importance of recognizing the contributions of the university’s staff and faculty.
HEROES 2025 was not just a celebration of individual achievements but a testament to the collective commitment of the RTU community in pursuing excellence and service, a true example of Rizaliano Synergy at work.
