RTU’s Master of Science in Information Technology Program Undergoes Evaluation by CHED RQAT

Rizal Technological University’s (RTU) College of Engineering (CEng), under the leadership of Dr. Corleto R. Bravo, the College Dean of CEng, with the assistance of Dr. Jennis N. Articona, the Associate Dean of the college, welcomed the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) Regional Quality Assurance Team (RQAT) Delegates for the evaluation of the college’s Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) Program under the headship of Dr. Javier A. Villanueva, the program head of MSIT, on March 15, 2024, at the Electrical Engineering Laboratory, Engineering Building.

The CHED RQAT Technical Panel for the MSIT program consisted of evaluators Dr. Bartolome T. Tanguilig III, Ms. Perla Cosme, Dr. Annalyn Diaz, and, Ms. Remedios Talingdan. The evaluation process stretched into two phases, commencing with the examination of the program’s implementation, operation, and the quality of its academic offerings, including the proficiency of its faculty members. This was followed by a site visit to various facilities utilized by MSIT students. The technical panel members provided insightful feedback and constructive recommendations aimed at enhancing the program’s effectiveness and relevance in meeting industry demands. 

The logistics of the evaluation were governed by the RTU Quality Assurance Office (QAO), headed by its director, Dr. Edna Conwi. This evaluation is part of the university and CHED’s commitment to providing caliber education that aligns with industry standards, reaffirming its vital role in shaping the future of information technology professionals.
