RTU Strengthens Ties with Taiwan through Productive Meeting at TECO

Makati City, December 20, 2024 – Rizal Technological University (RTU) recently held a fruitful meeting with Representative Wallace Minn Gan Chow of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in the Philippines at the Taiwan Embassy Office, RCBC Plaza, Ayala Avenue. The meeting, also attended by Ms. Rica Gabrielle S. Ortiz, Assistant of the Education Division at TECO, focused on forging collaborative opportunities between RTU and Taiwan in education, research, and agricultural innovation.

Key topics discussed included scholarship programs designed to provide RTU students and faculty with opportunities to pursue academic and research advancements in Taiwan. The dialogue also delved into potential internship placements aimed at offering RTU students valuable hands-on industry experience in Taiwan’s thriving sectors.

Additionally, both parties explored international training programs aimed at enhancing skills and expertise in various fields, as well as funding opportunities for agricultural initiatives. These projects seek to create a shared platform for innovation, particularly in addressing challenges and driving growth in agriculture, benefiting both RTU and Taiwan’s agricultural communities.

Representing RTU were Dir. Donato Z. Estocada, Director of the International Affairs and Linkages Office, and Instr. Jason Kalaw, Head of the Center for Astronomy Research and Development (CARD). Their active participation underscored RTU’s commitment to expanding its global network and fostering meaningful partnerships.
