Rizal Technological University (RTU) boarded its Annual Institutional Budget Planning event from September 25 to 27, 2024, at the Caliraya Club Resort in Lumban, Laguna. The three-day conference brought together the university’s leadership to strategize for the fiscal year 2025 with a focus on financial sustainability and institutional growth.
The event opened with remarks from Dr. Rodolfo L. Ducut, RTU’s Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA), who emphasized the importance of strategic financial planning in ensuring the institution’s success. RTU President, Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco, delivered a motivational message, underlining the university’s commitment to responsible financial management and excellence in education. The leaders expressed their appreciation for the officials for their pledge and dedication.
Dr. Salvacion J. Pachejo, Vice President for Planning, Quality Assurance, and Strategic Initiatives (VPPQASI), provided an overview of the workshop, outlining the objectives and key deliverables expected by the end of the three-day planning session.
Presentations included the Accomplishment Report for 2023 and Mid-Year Report for 2024, led by Asso. Prof. Ella Aragon, Planning Office Director. CAOF Rowell C. Marasigan and Ms. R-Cherine Heart O. Manapat provided a comprehensive forecast of the university’s financial status for fiscal years 2025 and 2026. Instr. Ian Moscardo, Procurement Management Office (UPMO) Director, presented the status of procurement based on the 2024 APP.
Presentations of SWOT and PESTLE Analysis per division took place, fostering collaborative dialogue between departments. This part of the program was led by Admin. Officer Ma. Lourdes R. Austria, Director of Quality Assurance Office (QAO).
A comprehensive discussion on the Annual Performance Commitment Report (APCR) for 2025 and the Performance Indicators for 2026 set the stage for strategic discussions.
Key university executives, including the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA), Dr. Kristine Y. Opulencia; Vice Pres. for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services (VPRIES), Dr. Magno M. Quendangan. The Office of the President, Finance & Administration, Pasig Branch, and Quality Assurance Division also presented their tactical plans. These plans covered a wide array of topics, from operational enhancements to academic initiatives, aligning with the university’s long-term vision.
Sessions on SPMS/IPCR re-orientation were also led by Inst. Carlie Momongan and Inst. Shaira Marie Rona, of the Human Resource Management Office, to ensure alignment with the university’s performance management system.
The event wrapped up with a solidarity night, strengthening camaraderie among the university administrators.
