The university reaffirmed its commitment to scientific and technological advancement as it took part in the recent launch of “ELEV8PH: Pushing S&T Frontiers for National Development.” Held at the Dusit Thani Manila on February 5, 2025, the event was spearheaded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to introduce eight transformative research and development (R&D) programs designed to harness emerging and frontier technologies in addressing national challenges.
RTU President, Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco, joined the gathering, representing the university’s dedication to fostering innovation excellence. With a strong academic foundation in engineering, science, and technology, RTU actively engages in initiatives that drive forward the country’s R&D agenda.
The launch of ELEV8PH served as a crucial platform for collaboration among industry leaders, international partners, and the academic community. DOST Undersecretary for Research and Development Leah J. Buendia underscored the importance of innovation in national progress, stating, “Together, we embody the spirit of innovation and collaboration that turns visions into reality.” Meanwhile, DOST Secretary Dr. Renato U. Solidum Jr. highlighted the indispensable role of cooperation in achieving technological breakthroughs, encouraging stakeholders to take decisive steps toward national development.
ELEV8PH introduces pioneering R&D programs focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Virtual Hubs, Quantum Computing Technology, Geospatial Analytics Solutions (GATES Hub), Industry 4.0, Circular Economy, Smart Agriculture, Biologics in Pharmaceuticals, and Smart Technologies. These initiatives align with RTU’s thrust in research and development, particularly in AI applications, smart technologies, and sustainable solutions.
