October 09, 2024 – RTU Quad, Boni Campus. The University’s kickoff activity for the 55th Foundation and 27th Universityhood Anniversaries celebration started with a Grand Parade, gathering the entire RTU community proudly donned in their college, institute, branch, and association’s official color signifying camaraderie and oneness all exuding a celebratory spirit.
Dr. Corazon D. Austria, RTU Pasig Branch Chancellor, delivered the opening statement to mark the start of the morning program emphasizing the importance of celebrating milestones to uplift human resource engagements.
University President, Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco’s keynote address roused the enthusiasm of the assembly setting an ambiance of excitement and resonating cheers in anticipation of the entire week’s merriments. Buoying up the already jubilant and festive atmosphere, Dr. Yangco emphasized that RTU’s week-long celebration theme: “Taon ng Paglikha: Pagkilala, Pagyaman, Pagsulong ng Inklusibo at Progresibong Kahusayan”, centering around RTU’s achievements and continued efforts to deliver quality service drawing on the remarkable talents of its diverse human resources, inclusive governance and recognizing exemplary performance in attaining goals. She also briefly mentioned the awards and recognition received by the university as a significant testament to RTU’s commitment to excellence and relevant global initiatives.
With much ardor, the Mr. and Ms. RTU candidates presented themselves to the crowd’s resounding applause followed by the Oath of Sportsmanship, a pledge signifying adherence to the rules and spirit of fair play.
The kick-off activities concluded with a Unity Dance where everyone, including Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco, University President, Dr. Rodolfo L. Ducut, Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA), Dr. Salvacion J. Pachejo, Vice President for Planning, Quality Assurance and Strategic Initiatives (VPQASI), Dr. Magno M. Quendangan,Vice President for Research, Innovation and Extension Services (VPRIES), Dr. Kristine Y. Opulencia, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA), Dr. Heine Roy Barcelona, AFCI President, and Dr. Corazon D. Austria, RTU-Pasig Branch Chancellor, danced to the rhythm of HIRAYA tune following Dr. Yangco’s declaration of the opening of the 55th Foundation and the 27th Universityhood Anniversary Celebration.
The most awaited street dance competition brought the house down as the participating groups showcased their talents with exemplary performance, giving their best and vying for the best spot in a friendly contest.
