Rizal Technological University (RTU) successfully hosted the 8th Philippine Higher Education Research Consortium (PHERC) Board of Directors’ Meeting on February 17, 2025 (Monday), gathering top academic leaders and research experts from State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the National Capital Region (NCR).

The meeting was attended by SUC Presidents, PHERC Officers, and Board of Directors, including Dr. Magno M. Quendangan, Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA), as well as Deans of Graduate Schools/Studies from various SUCs in NCR.

Discussions during the meeting centered on key collaborative initiatives, including the review and approval of agreements, the development of strategic action plans, and the finalization of upcoming research forums and academic conferences. Participants deliberated on comprehensive research assessment tools, strategies for strengthening institutional partnerships, and capacity-building programs for faculty members, all aimed at advancing research excellence within the higher education sector.

During the event, Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco, President of Rizal Technological University, delivered her remarks; she welcomed all the participants and expressed the support of RTU in shaping impactful research initiatives that benefit the entire SUC community.

The 8th PHERC Board of Directors’ Meeting underscored the importance of inter-university collaboration in driving research and innovation across higher education institutions.
