RTU DSO Hosts Housekeeping Management Seminar for Student Athletes

The Rizal Technological University (RTU) Dormitory Services Office (DSO) conducts a seminar training for Student Athletes titled “How to Keep a Clean and Organized Home at the Dormitory” held at SNAGAH Penthouse on March 19, 2025. 

The program began with welcoming remarks from Asst. Prof. Margarita D. Conclara, Director of the Dormitory Services Office, emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean and orderly living space to promote health, well-being, and productivity. She stressed that cleanliness is not only a matter of personal responsibility but also a shared duty that strengthens the dorm community. Her message was followed by words of encouragement from Asst. Prof. Marie Joy C. Jorduela, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the Business, Resource Generation, and Auxiliary Services Office (BRGAS). Prof. Jorduela commended the dormers for their active participation, highlighting how adopting clean and organized living habits contributes to a more harmonious and sustainable campus environment.

The first speaker, Asst. Prof. Margarita D. Conclara, shared her expertise on effective dormitory management, providing practical tips and techniques for keeping living spaces neat and organized. She offered strategies on decluttering, efficient cleaning routines, and maintaining personal hygiene within shared spaces. Her talk emphasized that small, consistent efforts lead to long-term cleanliness and comfort.

The second speaker, Dr. Rhodora D. Lintot, Director of the Food Services Office (FSO), expanded on the topic by addressing the importance of sanitation in common areas, particularly in kitchen and dining spaces. She provided practical guidelines on proper waste disposal, pest control, and the use of eco-friendly cleaning products, stressing that cleanliness is a key factor in preventing food contamination and promoting dorm residents’ overall health.

Following the discussions, the participants engaged in a collaborative activity designed to enhance their motivation and teamwork. The activity encouraged dormers to apply the techniques they had learned through hands-on problem-solving exercises, fostering camaraderie and a sense of shared responsibility for maintaining a clean and organized dorm environment.
