July 31, 2024– Rizal Technological University (RTU) Main Campus held its Baccalaureate Mass and Recognition Day, held at the Mandaluyong College of Science and Technology. The event, themed “Empowering Generations of Tomorrow: Fostering Sustainable Education Through Technology-Driven Innovation and Transformation,” was a testament to the university’s commitment to nurturing future leaders through cutting-edge education.
The ceremony, a celebration of academic achievements and scholarly excellence, was organized into three distinct batches. Each batch honored the university’s highest academic achievers, including those graduating Magna Cum Laude, Summa Cum Laude, and Cum Laude. The event also recognized recipients of prestigious awards such as the Most Outstanding Students, the Sen. Villar Excellence Award, and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Academic Excellence Award.
In addition to individual academic honors, the event showcased the collective efforts and accomplishments of various student organizations and scholars. The Supreme Student Council Officers were lauded for their leadership and dedication, while Athletic Scholars and Cultural Troupe Scholars were celebrated for their exceptional contributions to sports and the arts, respectively.
The recognition ceremony also highlighted the achievements of scholars from various programs. These included the City of Mandaluyong Collegiate Scholarship, the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute, Pasig City Scholars, and beneficiaries of the Tertiary Education Subsidy – Tulong Dunong Program. Special attention was given to the Capstone projects of Institute of Computer Studies (ICS) students, underscoring the university’s emphasis on practical and innovative academic pursuits.
This year’s theme, focusing on sustainable education and technological innovation, reflects RTU’s ongoing efforts to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing educational landscape.
