The organizing committee for the 9th AUAP Forum and Networking event had met at Rizal Technological University (RTU) on February 25, 2025 to finalize plans for this highly anticipated event, set to take place in Manila on May 21 to 23, 2025. Hosted by RTU, the forum is organized by the Association of Universities in Asia and the Pacific (AUAP), with strong collaboration from a consortium of prestigious institutions including the University of Northern Philippines, Lyceum of Batangas, Davao Del Sur State College, World Citi Colleges, Davao Oriental State University, Don Mariano Memorial State University, Pan Pacific University, Biliran Province State University, Bataan Peninsula State University, and Centro Escolar University.
The official meeting to discuss the event’s preparations took place at the International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO) of RTU, with Dir. Donato Z. Estocada, Director of IALO, hosting the session. Representatives from the collaborating universities and AUAP worked together in a spirit of unity to ensure the success of the event, fine-tuning the logistics, program content, and overall vision.
This year’s Forum will revolve around the theme: “Global Networks: Paving the Way for Innovative, Diverse, and Sustainable Academic Landscapes in Asia and the Pacific.” The event will offer a platform for academic leaders, higher education professionals, and experts to explore how universities in the Asia-Pacific region can foster innovation, inclusion, and sustainability in education. With global collaboration at the heart of the theme, discussions will focus on strengthening academic networks and partnerships that drive growth and progress within the region’s academic institutions.
The Forum will gather university presidents, chancellors, faculty, and administrators from across Asia and the Pacific, creating a unique opportunity for participants to exchange ideas, share best practices, and collaborate on future endeavors. With a focus on diversity and sustainability, the event will highlight how universities can adapt to contemporary challenges and shape the future of higher education in the region.
In a significant move to further strengthen the AUAP’s presence in the Philippines, the group also decided to establish the AUAP Philippine Chapter. This new chapter aims to create a more solidified and collaborative network among Philippine universities, enhancing the nation’s role in shaping the future of higher education in the Asia-Pacific region.
“The 9th AUAP Forum represents a significant milestone in the advancement of higher education across the Asia-Pacific region. It’s a chance to strengthen global networks, promote academic excellence, and work collectively toward a more sustainable and inclusive academic landscape,” said Dir. Estocada.
RTU is honored to host this important event and is dedicated to ensuring the Forum provides a meaningful and impactful experience for all attendees. As preparations continue, further details about the event’s schedule and speakers will be released in the coming months.
