RTU and Mandaluyong City Congressman Office Forge Stronger Ties Through Collaborative Meeting

On May 21, 2024, a collaborative meeting was held at the Rizal Technological University (RTU) Office of the President’s Conference Room. Dr. Rodolfo L. Ducut, Vice President for Finance and Administration Division (VPFAD) of RTU, led the meeting with the Mandaluyong City Congressman Hon. Neptali “Boyet” Gonzales II team. The primary aim was to discuss upcoming projects and enhance cooperation between the university and the local government.

The meeting included RTU officials under the VPFA Division, such as Chief Admin Officer Rowell Marasigan from the Financial Management Services Office, Engr. Joan Pagilagan, Programs and Events Management Office Director, Mr. Arnel Jaming, Officer-In-Charge of the Budget Management Office, and Instr. Ralph Michael Imperial, the Executive Assistant of the RTU VPFA. Representing Congressman Gonzales’ office were Ms. Gay F. Cruz, Ms. Lee A. Chan, Ms. Lia A. Catap, Ms. Ma. Kryselle D. Dionisio, and Ms. Dexie Joana S. Alferos.

Key topics of discussion included several collaborative projects aimed at extending the services and programs offered by Congressman Gonzales’ office to RTU students. These initiatives comprise the TUPAD (Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Disadvantaged and Displaced Workers), the Government Internship Program (GIP), and the Tulong Dunong Scholarship Program. These programs are designed to provide RTU students with financial assistance, employment opportunities, and educational support.

Furthermore, the meeting addressed the guidelines on the Congressional Insertions of the Office of the Mandaluyong City Congressman in the General Appropriation Act 2024 of RTU. This discussion aimed to ensure that the financial appropriations and legislative support align with the university’s goals and the needs of its students.
