Rizal Technological University (RTU) participated in the Filipino Leaders in Advancing International Reputation (FLAIR) 2026–NCR & Southern Luzon Leg, held on September 22–23, 2026, with the theme “Beyond Rankings: Strengthening Global Reputation.”
The two-day program brought together higher education institutions for meaningful discussions and hands-on workshops on QS, Times Higher Education (THE), and WURI rankings, research productivity, internationalization, sustainability, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), institutional data, and global partnerships.
For RTU, the engagement provided a valuable opportunity to further strengthen its emerging impact-driven approach to global visibility and institutional reputation. In particular, the discussions on THE Impact Rankings highlighted the importance of moving beyond traditional measures of academic reputation toward demonstrating how universities translate their teaching, research, innovation, community engagement, partnerships, and institutional initiatives into measurable contributions to the SDGs.
Through insightful sessions and practical workshops, FLAIR 2026 enabled RTU to deepen its understanding of ranking methodologies, impact indicators, evidence-based reporting, and data-driven strategies that can support the University’s continuing journey toward greater global recognition.
The program also reinforced RTU’s commitment to building a sustainable, globally engaged, and impact-oriented university—one that not only seeks recognition through rankings but, more importantly, creates and measures meaningful contributions to society, the environment, and the global Sustainable Development Goals.
As RTU continues to strengthen its internationalization and global visibility agenda, participation in FLAIR 2026 supports the University’s broader aspiration to become a smart, transnational university and a recognized institution for sustainable development, innovation, global partnerships, and societal impact.
Beyond rankings, RTU continues to focus on what matters most: creating measurable impact and building a global community for a sustainable future.
