September 16, 2023 – The Waste Disposal Management Division under the Center for Resource Generation and Auxiliary Services (CRGAS) of Rizal Technological University participates as a volunteer in the International Coastal Clean-up 2023 with.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Environmental Management Bureau, National Capital Region (DENR-EMB NCR) spearheaded the event with the theme “Clean Seas for Healthy Fisheries: #SeaTheChange.”
Almost 4,000 participants, including government agencies and private companies, were assigned to clean the Dolomite Beach in Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City. The collective efforts of these agencies result in lessening the waste that prohibits the free flow of rivers in the Metro and waste materials that cause increasing air pollution.
The center hopes that the RTU community embraces the event’s essence that everyone must be responsible for managing waste material generated daily because everyone is supposed to protect the earth from harm and damage.
RTU representatives present are: Instr. Lovelyn B. Balbedina (CRGAS Associate Director), Ms. Ellen Joy Latina, and Mr. Jake B. Cabral (CRGAS Waste Disposal Management Division personnel).
