CBEA Faculty Members Participate in Roundtable Discussion on the Futures of Educational Leadership at Ateneo de Manila

Faculty members from the College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy (CBEA) of Rizal Technological University (RTU) recently took part in the roundtable discussion titled “Learning from the Future, Leading for the Future: A Roundtable Discussion on the Futures of Educational Leadership.” The event, organized by The Lily Gokongwei Ngochua Leadership Academy (The Lily) of Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU), was held on March 4, 2025, at The Hive, Areté, AdMU Loyola Heights Campus, Quezon City.

Representing RTU CBEA were Instr. Hanna V. Reambonanza, Program Chair for BS Office Administration; Instr. Rholad Tapalla, Program Chair for BS Accountancy; Instr. Louie Donato, Program Chair for BSBA Operations Management; Instr. John Paul Sison; and Instr. Randolf Jacob Montoya.

The hybrid event welcomed administrators, faculty, and students from Asian higher education institutions, offering both onsite and online participation at no cost to attendees. The event was supported by the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia.

The discussion explored the future of educational leadership in an ever-evolving academic landscape. The special guest speaker for the event was Ms. Marite P. Irvine, Executive Director of the newly established Research Institute for the Futures of Education (RIFE) at the Gokongwei Brothers School of Education and Learning Design, AdMU. With over twenty years of experience in research-based strategy, innovation, and implementation for both private and development sectors, Ms. Irvine is also the founder of Forge Futures, a Strategic Foresight and Futures Research, Strategy, and Ideas Practice.

Joining her in the conversation were expert panelists Mr. Gerson Abesamis, Director of the Education Futures Office, Department of Education, and Co-Founder of Habi Education Lab; Dr. Nur Anisah Abdullah, Associate Professor at the College of Education, Tamkang University, and Managing Editor of the Journal of Futures Studies; and Dr. Lizen E. Perante Calina, President of the Philippine Futures Society and Dean of the Graduate School of Public and Development Management at the Development Academy of the Philippines.

The event provided a valuable platform for RTU’s CBEA faculty members to engage in meaningful discussions on the future of educational leadership, gaining insights that will contribute to the enhancement of the university’s academic strategies and leadership approaches. Their participation reaffirms RTU’s dedication to academic excellence and progressive leadership in education.
