This university respects the rights of the students, faculty members, administrative personnel and visitors to privacy. 

In this regard, personal information collected from you either manually or electronically is for academic, administration and/or records purposes only.

Rest assured that your data is safe and shall be disclosed or shared upon your consent or when authorized by law.

Finally, as the data subject, you are assured of the data protection provided under Section 34 of the Data Privacy Act implementing Rules and Regulations,
such as the right to be informed, to object, access, rectify, erase and to damages.

Rizal Technological University respects and protects the privacy rights of its students, faculty members, administrative personnel, applicants, alumni, visitors, partners, and other stakeholders.

In compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012, its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), and issuances of the National Privacy Commission (NPC), RTU is committed to ensuring that all personal data collected by the University are processed lawfully, fairly, securely, and transparently.

Personal information collected manually or through electronic means shall be used solely for legitimate educational, administrative, operational, research, security, records management, and lawful institutional purposes.

RTU may collect and process personal information including but not limited to:

  • Identification and contact details;
  • Academic and employment records;
  • Enrollment and application information;
  • Photographs, videos, CCTV recordings, and biometric data;
  • System-generated information from official university platforms and services;
  • Other information necessary for the delivery of university services and compliance with legal obligations.

The University implements appropriate organizational, physical, and technical security measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, misuse, alteration, loss, or destruction.

RTU shall not disclose, transfer, or share personal information without the consent of the data subject unless authorized or required by law, regulation, lawful order, or legitimate institutional purpose.

As a data subject, you are entitled to exercise your rights under the Data Privacy Act, including:

  • The right to be informed;
  • The right to access;
  • The right to object;
  • The right to rectification;
  • The right to erasure or blocking;
  • The right to data portability;
  • The right to damages;
  • The right to file a complaint before the National Privacy Commission.
