Extensionists from the Bachelor in Technical-Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTED) Department of Rizal Technological University (RTU) conducted an activity-based extension program, titled “Empowering Creatives: Innovation, Livelihood, and Skills for Sustainable Development”, where 30 students from Rizal High School (RHS) were trained in creative entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihood.
The program, conducted on March 12, 2026, aimed to strengthen the participants’ creative capacities through exposure to opportunities in the creative industries and sustainable livelihoods. The 30 RHS students, comprising Grade 11 Arts and Design students, members of the Lapis Club, and learners from the Special Program in the Arts, actively participated in the activities while engaging with the extensionists.
Project Leader Instr. Mariacil Agustin-Villanueva led the program, enlisting the assistance of student volunteers from the College of Education-Department of BTVTED, major in Visual Graphic Design, who supported demonstrations and hands-on activities.
Through interactive sessions, expert-led discussions, and practical workshops, the participants were guided in identifying potential pathways for innovation and entrepreneurship within the creative industry.
The program emphasized skill development in essential areas, including digital design, branding, marketing strategies, and financial literacy. These learning opportunities equipped participants with practical knowledge and competencies to help transform their creative talents into sustainable, income-generating ventures in the future.
