Organized by the International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO), the academic leaders of Rizal Technological University (RTU) met with Dr. PC Chen, Senior Teaching/Project Fellow from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), to discuss possible areas of collaboration between the two institutions.
The meeting, held on December 5, 2025, was attended by the top officials of each academic pillar of Pandayang Rizalia, including Dr. Rome Sherriff Montoya, Dean of the College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy; Dr. Jeremiah Pacer, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Dr. Mark Joseph Santos, Director of the Institute of Human Kinetics; Engr. Cabrera, representative for the College of Engineering; Assoc. Prof. John Eric Estrellado, Director of the Research, Development, and Innovation Office, and Assoc. Prof. Donato Estocada, Director of IALO.
In his presentation, Dr. Chen shared his insights on the internationalization challenges RTU is facing. From world rankings to encouraging international students to enroll at RTU, Dr. Chen demonstrated his deep understanding of the mechanics of internationalization in higher education institutions.
Dr. Chen also introduced Hong Kong PolyU in depth, sharing best practices that may be applied to RTU.
In turn, RTU leaders expressed a strong interest in collaborating with Dr. Chen across research, industry partnerships, and faculty and student exchanges.
With exploratory meetings such as this initiative, RTU is poised to gain greater traction on the global scholarly stage, true to its vision of becoming a transnational university.
