RTU Acquires New Online Resources, LMSU Conducts Orientation for Resource Maximization

With Rizal Technological University’s (RTU) acquisition of ProQuest One Academic, an online resource management platform, the Library Management Services Unit (LMSU) conducted an online orientation on the features and effective use of ProQuest on December 1, 2025, allowing faculty members to get familiar with the platform.

The initiative, led by Instr. Bobby D. Cauilan, LMSU Head, aimed to expand faculty access to high‑quality academic materials that support teaching, learning, and research. Faculty members from various colleges and institutes participated in the orientation, recognizing its value in strengthening their instructional and scholarly work.

Introducing ProQuest was Ms. Kurinji Malar K, a Training Manager from Clarivate. She demonstrated how the platform provides a comprehensive collection of materials essential for academic and research pursuits. Ms. Kurinji guided participants through navigating the database, locating relevant teaching and research resources, and exploring innovative topic suggestions and keyword recommendations to broaden research perspectives.

Participants were also introduced to the platform’s built-in AI Research Assistant, which enhances efficiency in reviewing, analyzing, and interrogating documents. The tool supports users in evaluating, curating, organizing, sharing, and managing information, streamlining the administration and utilization of library resources.

This advancement marks a significant step toward RTU’s vision of becoming a smart and transnational university. The subscription not only increases access to academic materials but also strengthens RTU’s commitment to providing flexible, high‑quality resources anytime and anywhere. With this new platform, the university moves closer to a more sustainable and accessible future for both faculty and students.
