Honoring the excellence of Rizaliano alumni who conquered the Licensure Examinations of their respective fields, Rizal Technological University (RTU) held its annual Testimonial Dinner for Board Passers and Topnotchers who took their exams in 2023 and 2024.
With this year’s theme, “Sama-samang Tagumpay, Alay sa Bayan: Honoring Excellence, Uplifting Futures,” the event featured inspiring testimonies from RTU alumni who have overcome the challenges of education and the board exams.
The Guest of Honor, Police Corporal Richard Soriano Alejandro, who originally graduated from RTU with a degree in Bachelor of Secondary Education with a specialization in Computer Education, gave an inspirational address where he recalled how the University and the College of Education (CEd) helped him in his journey from being a financially struggling student to a Licensed Professional Teacher to being a Police Corporal. His journey, as arduous as it might have been, has always been rooted in the values Pandayang Rizalia has imparted to him, even now as he serves the public as a police officer.
Various other alumni testimonies were heard, highlighting the differences in the meaningful journeys of RTU’s alumni. Ar. Nathaniel San Juan shared how Ar. Marirose Vocal, Director of the Institute of Architecture, instilled in them the value of respecting the deadline as much as they respect the design. Mr. Bryan Jacob G. Marquez, an LPT from the CEd Social Studies Department, shared how he chose to move on from teaching to pursue his dream of becoming a flight attendant. Engr. Coleen Zaima M. Felix, CPA, Nicko Andrei F. Galido, RPm, Reanne Mariz G. Castillo, and LPT Rogelio C. Mercurio III also shared their journeys, highlighting their gratitude to RTU and the educators who helped change their lives.
The returning Rizalianos were further celebrated with a toast, symbolizing RTU’s unwavering support for its alumni even after their academic journey at the University. The candle lighting segment, led by the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA), Dr. Kristine Y. Opulencia, symbolized the alumni’s commitment to the standards of their professions and the values imparted by the University.
The dinner was hosted by the University Review and Related Instructions Office, led by Dr. Rizaldy Garcia, and was held on November 29, 2025.
The Testimonial Dinner 2025 serves as a platform to celebrate the milestones and successes of Rizaliano Alumni. It is more than a feast and a toast—it is a testament to the University’s enduring commitment to honor excellence and recognize Rizalianos who keep making Pandayang Rizalia proud.
