In an effort to strengthen the capability of Rizal Technological University (RTU) Dormitory Services Office (DSO), Assoc. Prof. Marie Joy Jorduela, Chief Administrative Officer for Business Resource Generation and Auxiliary Services (CAO-BRGAS), and Assoc. Prof. Margarita Conclara, DSO Director, led a Rizaliano delegation in a benchmarking activity with the University of the Philippines’ (UP) University Hotel in Diliman, Quezon City.

The delegation was warmly received by the UP Hotel Management, which included Mr. Don Rico G. Kapunan, General Manager; Ms. Thea Karissa S. Peregrino, Hotel Manager; Mr. Moises Fontano, F&B Manager; Admin Officer Marijoy Villavicente; and Officer-in-Charge Marie Wendilyn S. Saddi.

The visit, held on December 16, 2025, was a productive knowledge-sharing session between Higher Education Institutions. It featured discussions on UP’s best practices in managing student lodging services, and exchanges of valuable insights between the RTU delegation and the UP Hotel Management that may be applied to RTU’s context and circumstances.

The benchmarking activity proved to be a fruitful academic and professional discussion between the two institutions. With this new strategic management knowledge, RTU is poised to deliver improved services to its dormitory student-residents.
