The Extension and Community Services Office (ECSO) spearheaded the 2025 In-House Review, themed HIGH-IMPACT through Extension Services 2.0” (Harmonizing Innovative Growth Horizons – IMplementing Practical Approaches for Community Transportation), on March 26 and 27, 2024, at the Blueroom in RTU Mandaluyong Main Campus. This aimed to evaluate new extension service proposals and ongoing extension services, to meet the ever-changing demands of the community, and the opportunity to bring about meaningful, long-term impact to external stakeholders.
The event saw significant representation from across the University, with 250 participants from its different colleges and departments. Led by Dr. Magno M. Quendangan, the Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services (VPRIES), as the Chairperson, represented by Instr. Antonio Victor M. Lim, Executive Assistant of the OVPRIES, and Instr. Ricardo H. Momongan, Jr., the Director of the Extension and Community Services Office (ECSO), as the Vice Chairperson, the proposed extension program underwent rigorous scrutiny by the panel of evaluators. Prominent members include the Chief Administrative Officer for Finance (CAOF) Rowell M. Marasigan from the Financial Management Services Office (FMSO) and Instr. Mark Anthony L. Gallego, Staff of the Accounting Office, College Deans, Institute Directors, and Extension Coordinators, collaborated to assess the feasibility of the proposed programs and the alignment of its target objectives.
Over 29 new extension service proposals, and 16 ongoing extension services, from different colleges and departments were presented at the said event. This in-depth assessment helps to effectively identify the strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for refinement, with a key focus on the program’s ability to foster enduring community development.
The success of the 2025 In-House Review shows the university’s dedication to pioneering growth and employing practical strategies for long-term community well-being. This is the mark of a future filled with transformative projects and real positive change.
