‘Lab for All’ Caravan Visits Pasig City, NCR; RTU Students Receive Tertiary Education Subsidy Grants

Rizal High School Gymnasium, Pasig City – October 3, 2024, the Lab for All caravan, a nationwide initiative spearheaded by First Lady Atty. Liza Araneta-Marcos, made its stop in the National Capital Region today at Rizal High School, Pasig City. The event, aimed at promoting accessible healthcare and education, was attended by his excellency, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Marcos.

The program began with a series of performances, including special numbers from Coro Pasigueño and the Pasig City Symphonic Band. Mayor Victor Ma. Regis “Vico” Sotto of Pasig City delivered the welcome remarks, followed by messages of support from key officials including Secretary Teodoro Herbosa of the Department of Health, Secretary Rexlon Gatchalian of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, and Chief Persida Rueda-Acosta of the Public Attorney’s Office.

During the event, Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) grants were distributed to Batch 13.1 student-grantees of Rizal Technological University (RTU) for the first semester of Academic Year 2023-2024. The distribution was supervised by Dr. Salvacion J. Pachejo, RTU Vice President for Planning, Quality Assurance, and Strategic Initiatives, along with Prof. Rhoda Malabanan, Head of the RTU Scholarship Office, and Ms. Gloria Dulay of the University Cashier’s Office.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. delivered an inspirational message, emphasizing the importance of education and healthcare access in nation-building. He also led the ceremonial turnover of the Lab for All mobile laboratory, followed by a tour of the facilities.

This event highlighted the government’s commitment to empowering Filipino youth through accessible education and healthcare.
